Role of An Institutional Broker
Institutional brokers are unbiased, independent and match buyers and sellers of physical and financial derivatives in the over-the-counter (OTC) markets.

Traditional utilities, marketers, trading companies, hedge funds, banks, and other institutions regularly buy and sell energy products to meet physical requirements, hedge positions, or simply speculate on the market. Institutional OTC brokers help build more liquid, efficient, and effective markets. How do they do this? By developing networks in the market to constantly find the best bids and offers from the most creditworthy counter parties. OTC brokers are in constant contact with participants in the market to bring clients up-to-the-moment information and pricing, liquidity, and transaction efficiency.

OTC energy brokers are merely introducing brokers and do not take positions in the market, therefore being independent and unbiased. Customer confidentiality is ensured, as customer identities are not disclosed. Only when a transaction is complete are the parties involved in the transaction introduced to each other.
